UPDATE | HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year loves <3 I can’t believe 2014 passed by SO quickly! This year I’m really going to try and balance out my life! No, not the cliche “New Year New Me!” sort of deal, more of an organizing of my life. We all know how chaotic it can  be to live in this day and age. With new technology and limitless globalism, it’s as if there aren’t enough hours in the day! So my first baby step is to start exercising regularly. I don’t mean daily! That’s too big a leap for Anya-kind! However at least a few sessions a week would be nice. Particularly I’m looking to get back into yoga, but that’s for another post!

I also want to fix my sleeping habits! As a student, your sleep cycle and patterns are as hap hazardous as the roads after an ice storm! Completely unpredictable! But for your body and your brain to function properly, proper sleep is quite necessary! Now as I learned in a first-year neuroscience class, the whole 9-5 attitude of the world is actually quite inefficient! Ideally our bodies and brains work better when waking up and sleeping later, pretty much shifting 9-5 to around 2-10! However that is a whole other theory to get into, so for now just getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep would be the goal!

Also I really want to get back into cooking! Frankly cooking is not only much healthier for you, but also SO much cheaper than constantly eating out! Last year I really binged on the take out, and I could feel it in my constant fatigue and sluggishness. This year I hope to get into the cooking habit, which will also require extra planning and time management as a student’s life is one of constant GO GO GO!

Ultimately, this year I want to cherish every moment of every second of everyday! I learned in 2014 that we never get time back, and that we have to make the most of the time we have! So goodluck to all, I hope this year we can all take a step back, and really cherish what it feels like to LIVE. Cheers and hugs, till next time…

BEAUTY DIY | Green Tea Bath

Green tea baths became popular thanks to the legendary Yang Gui Fei or Lady Yang of the Tang dynasty of ancient China. She was the favourite concubine of the emperor, Tang Ming Huang, and the secret to her beauty was said to be her frequent dips in tea baths. To this day woman, especially of Japan, have been using green tea baths for it’s various benefits.
It’s been quite a stressful month for me. I have summer school, I’m still looking for a job, and there seems to be constant work to be done in and around the house. This has left me battered, bruised, and literally scarred (rose bushes are pretty, but they’re killer to deal with)!
Green tea baths are famous for their healing and rejuvenating qualities. They are said to detoxify the skin, delay skin cell aging, heal sores and sounds, soothe and heal stressed skin, firm and balance skin tone, treat and prevent acne, and so much more! Obviously with this many benefits I thought right now was the best time to try this out :b

What you need? Bagged green tea and a tub! Pretty much all you have to do is fill a tub 3/4's with hot water. Then you drop in 5-8 tea bags and let them swirl around and soak in the water. Once the water has reached your desired temperature just remove the tea bags and submerge yourself in blissful heaven <3
I kid you not, this bath was the most relaxing thing I’ve experienced in a while. Add in a few candles, some music and good book and you have got yourself a spa right at home! I hope you guys enjoy this easy DIY, try it out and let me know if it works for you! I’m off to write a case study but I’ll try to be back soon :) Till next time, hugs and cheers, Anya <3

ROOM INSPIRATION | Heavenly Haven

So since it’s going to take me a while to get all the materials I need to put together my newly designed room, I thought I’d share the photos which inspired me in my room theme! The theme I’m going with is an all white room :) I’ve always loved how all white rooms look, and I’ve always loved amazing lighting in room, possibly cause I’m an avid reader and good lighting is EVERYTHING in order to enjoyably read a good book :b So this is why I chose to go with an all white room. The only problem is I’m a klutz who to this day spills her tea –_- But I’ll have to gain some grace, cause I’m in love with this room theme :b So without further ado, here are the rooms I’ve taken inspiration from:
I love the white faux fur blanket! Hard to find for cheap, but I’m definitely not gonna stop trying :b
This was my favourite room design! The simple bed, cute accessories, and string lights are to die for <3
And this is a collection of inspiring room pictures! Pretty eh?
The main challenge of my room design is to keep everything under budget! I am a broke uni student so money is tight, I’ll be doing a lot of thrift store rummaging and second-hand buying but I don’t mind, so long as I can say that I did all of this on my own :) That’s it for now, I’ll try and update more often! Till next time, hugs and cheers, Anya <3
